At 7:00 am we will start from Puerto Aysén and head towards the Carretera Austral South and the picturesque village of Villa Cerro Castillo. During the trip there will be the possibility of spotting huemules (South Andean deer) and condors that live in this part of the region. We'll make a stop at the viewpoint of the Cuesta del Diablo that shows a wide view of the Río Ibañez valley. At Villa Cerro Castillo we will see the imposing Cerro Castillo mountain with its high granite rock towers reaching up to 2,400 meters and glaciers on its slopes. The route continues south bordering Laguna Verde and Bosque Muerto (Dead Forest), a reminder of the 1991 Hudson Volcano eruption. Farther south, the landscape changes into lush forest, arriving at the little port of Río Cofré and the lagoon of the same name. The Carretera Austral continues bordering the Rio Murta heading finally to Puerto Tranquilo, a picturesque town from where an entertaining excursion will take place to visit the amazing Nature Sanctuary "Marble Chapel", rock formations resulting from erosion from the wind and the waves' strength of Lago General Carrera. There are chapels, cathedrals and caves in different areas where the colors of these formations contrast with the green and blue waters of the lake. The lake tour has a duration of approximately 1 hour. Lunch at Pto. Tranquilo and return to Puerto Aysen.
